choreography
annaliesa gowe in solo 1
within my choreography, i aim to bring a new physical language out of the dancers i engage by drawing inspiration from complex sonic, artistic, and experimental ideas.
with strong backgrounds in hip-hop and contemporary alongside ballet, i feel i contribute a unique perspective on rhythm and musicality, bringing a new voice to the front of the room.
clair de lune
this piece explores themes of human nature, pulling in ideas from everyday life. if we could all see life from each others perspectives, would it make us stronger?
click
click was built on its complex electronic score, aiming to transform flow and percussion from auditory to physical. the use of different footwear allowed me to point to certain textures and accents i heard in the music, culminating in sneakers at the finale for a rhythmic, communal feel.
